Presented at the Salon of Tourism of Nantes 2019, the Tourist Office Saumur Val de Loire proposes you some ideas of outings and visits declined in 4 themes realizable each on a day.




Visit "Stone and Light" in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent. In an unusual underground decoration, at the very heart of the material of their construction, the most beautiful buildings of the region, churches, abbeys and cathedrals are carved with their immediate environment, houses, city and villages.


Visit the Mushroom Museum in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent:

- The mushroom farm in activity: explanations on the different methods of cultivation, the variety of mushrooms (of Paris, pied-bleu, oyster mushroom, shii-také).

- The museum of wild mushrooms.

- The troglodyte house, which houses a collection of objects "mushrooms" from around the world. Explanations on the extraction of tufa.


Lunch at the troglodyte restaurant Les Nobles Fouées in Saumur. Discover the "fouées", rolls that come out hot from the wood-fired oven and garnish with salted butter, rillettes, mogettes, duck confit, goat cheese. Very friendly atmosphere.

Etienne Bouvet created the Bouvet-Ladubay cellars in 1851 and built the superb buildings backing onto the hillside where 8 km of cellars wind their way. Discovery of the company and the "sunken cathedral", the work of the sculptor Philippe Cormand in the mass of tufa. To start your day, discover a must of our Destination. Founded in 1101, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud asserted itself until the Revolution as one of the largest monastic cities in Europe. Hostellerie château heritage-gardens, 14 ha park- Animations- Cultural programming.

The tour offers, through an original scenography combining tradition and contemporary art installations.
